Pediatric Dentistry

Children and adolescents care is entrusted to the branch of dentistry called Pedodontics or Pediatric Dentistry.

Our approach is to motivate and train children and parents on the practice of a proper oral hygiene and the adoption of good food practice to prevent caries. Our specialists value building relationships with children through active listening and dialogue. The intervention are designed to be rapid, noninvasive and pain-free.

Playing with children is how we win their trust, so we can cure their milk teeth, which are fundamental for later development of adult teeth.

Our little patients are also controlled by the orthodontist for the early identification of bad habits that can hinder the development of the child’s mouth and face; the hygienist’s check-up is also required to train the child on proper hygiene practice. It is also recommended to assess whether a child needs a fissure sealing treatment.

A routine checkup with the dentist may become a major issue for a child suffering from certain diseases or syndromes, such as Down Syndrome, Autism, Cerebral Palsy and muscle diseases.

Medical Center Padova is organized to welcome and treat children with physical and psychical deficits, even serious ones. Our specialists are trained to adopt special approaches in these cases. If a child cannot bear the standard procedure, our team will work together with anesthetists to induce general anesthesia and ensure the positive outcome of checkups and treatments.
